Professional Bio
Aashima Auplish is a veterinarian with a special interest in epidemiology and veterinary public health. She has a MSc (Global Health) from the University of Sydney and was recently awarded Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in Veterinary Epidemiology. She has most recently been consulting for the Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, working on development of livestock sectors through improving animal biosecurity for small and medium-scale farmers as well as One Health economics. She has also recently worked as a researcher for The University of Sydney working with the APCOVE group on capacity and needs assessments of the veterinary workforce in Vietnam and Meat & Livestock Australia to assess the health and meat quality impacts of the 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires on beef cattle. Aashima is passionate about exploring drivers of disease, disease prevention and control to sustainably improve the health, social and economic impacts for human and animal populations.
