Now a PhD Candidate at the University of Calgary, Dr. Alyssa Butters spent 12 years in private equine practice before deciding to pursue graduate studies, in which she uses genomics and molecular epidemiology to investigate antimicrobial resistance within a One Health context. She has also contributed to a large national surveillance project of antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial use in Canadian feedlots.
