Professional Bio
Asfri Rangkuti is the ASEAN Regional Support Unit Coordinator, FAO ECTAD RAP. A veterinarian from Syiah Kuala University, Indonesia and a Master's Degree in Tropical Agriculture from the University of Göttingen, Germany. Before joining FAO RAP, he was the Global Health Security Lead for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Indonesia, where he led various issues, including One Health, antimicrobial resistance and zoonotic diseases. He was also the Country Director for the Preparedness and Response Project (2017-2019), in which he assisted in developing Presidential Instruction for One Health in Indonesia. He was also appointed as the USAID Mission Coordinator for the COVID-19 response in Indonesia. Between 2010 and 2017, he worked for FAO RAP as a consultant, responsible for coordinating and liaising with the ASEAN Secretariat on animal health-related issues. From 2009 to 2010, we worked for the ASEAN Secretariat as a Technical Officer.
