Bastián is an infectious disease researcher with four years of research experience, mainly working on microbiological and statistical analysis. During this time he have been particularly interested in understanding infectious disease dynamics, studying the epidemiology of neglected zoonotic diseases. Lately, the application of multidisciplinary and collaborative approaches for infectious disease research (e.g. One Health) have come to his attention, exploring the interplay between disciplines like epidemiology, pathogen evolution and disease ecology.
