Beat graduated in animal science and agricultural economics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and went on to complete a PhD in veterinary epidemiology and animal health economics at the University of Bern. He currently works as a research group leader for animal health economics and clinical epidemiology at the Veterinary Public Health Institute at the University of Bern.
