Professional Bio
Britteny graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009. Upon graduation she entered small animal emergency and general practice in Toronto where she worked as an associate for several years, before switching her focus to honey bee medicine. She has served on the board of the Honey Bee Veterinary Consortium since 2019, where she has held the position of President, Conference chair, and most recently as the creator of a honey bee veterinary medicine certification program. Britteny returned to the Ontario Veterinary College in 2020 to earn her Masters degree in Epidemiology, and began her PhD in Epidemiology with a collaborative specialization in One Health in the Fall of 2021. Her research focuses on American foulbrood – a devastating bacterial disease of honey bees.
