Catherine Lorenz

Professional Bio

Catherine Lorenz received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from Michigan State University and is a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. Dr. Lorenz worked in clinical practice for three years before completing the California Epidemiologic Investigation Service fellowship. She then joined the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Antimicrobial Use and Stewardship team to support efforts to guide judicious use of antimicrobials in livestock. She is currently a veterinary epidemiologist for the US Department of Agriculture, Center for Epidemiology and Animal Health, where she works primarily on African swine fever surveillance and preparedness.
