Doreen Agado

Professional Bio
Ms. Doreen Agado is a registered laboratory technologist and researcher with a background in laboratory technology and infectious disease management. Her engagements relay most on research, diagnostics, community engagement and public health in disease management.
After finishing her bachelors in biomedical laboratory technology at Makerere University in 2019, Ms Doreen Agado gained expertise and competence in laboratory diagnostics with Makerere University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) and a few private hospitals. She further gained training and expertise in quality management systems at Uganda National Health Laboratory Services (UNHLS). Due to her passion for research, Doreen re-joined Makerere University for a Master’s Degree in International Infectious Disease Management in 2021 at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Biosecurity and Animal Resources (COVAB). She became a maters scholar under e-Rabies (elimination of rabies) which is a Project at COVAB in partnership with University of Zurich and University of Bern, Switzerland and has other collaborations with local organizations and Ministries. e-Rabies Project involves research activities in Dog ecology, antimicrobial resistance, surveillance and management that foster elimination of rabies in Uganda.
Ms Doreen Agado is a researcher at COVAB and a laboratory quality officer at UMC Victoria Hospital in Uganda.
