Dr Ioannis Magouras is a senior lecturer at the Veterinary public health Institute, University of Bern in Switzerland and is also appointed as an adjunct professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health, City University of Hong Kong. He holds a veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest and completed a PhD in veterinary virology at the University of Bern. He has also worked as a clinical microbiologist at the Institute for Infectious Diseases (University of Bern) on the laboratory diagnosis and the epidemiology of viral diseases in humans. His research mainly focuses on the epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance and zoonotic diseases at the wildlife-livestock-human interface.
