Professional Bio
Dr Jo de Klerk is a Doctoral Researcher enrolled on the Midlands Integrative Biosciences Training Partnership, where she is undertaking a PhD in the field of mathematical modelling of zoonotic infectious diseases. Her research focus is epidemiological modelling of orbiviruses, specifically African Horse Sickness and Bluetongue in South Africa. She is also a qualified veterinarian with a background in NGO work across Africa. During this time in clinical work, she developed a strong interest in One Health, and bigger-picture global veterinary medicine.
