Julia Guillebaud
Phd Student - Institut Pasteur du Cambodge
Professional Bio
Julia Guillebaud is currently a PhD student working at the Virology Unit of Institut Pasteur du Cambodge. Her research primarily focuses on assessing the risks of emergence of zoonotic viruses in human population living at the interface with wildlife in Cambodia, with an emphasis on bats and rodents’ reservoirs. Her initial training focused on laboratory research with a Master of Sciences in biotechnologies applied to health she obtained in France. Since then, she has worked exclusively in international settings, combining field work with laboratory analysis to better understand infectious diseases such as malaria, respiratory viruses and more recently, zoonotic viruses. Her research interests naturally led her to extend her skills into the fields of epidemiology and statistics, with a Master of Sciences in Epidemiology and Public Health in 2020. Her interdisciplinarity approach drives her to address other public health challenges in Cambodia such as rabies.
