My main interest is modelling biological problems, from disease transmission to vectors and vector-borne pathogens. Currently, I am working with predictive spatial modelling of avian influenza and spatial modelling of vector distribution, abundance and vector-borne pathogen prevalence using remote sensing data, statistical methods as well as machine learning algorithms and GIS. I play a central role in the national surveillance of vectors through DK-VET contingency work, where I am responsible for collecting vector-related data and ensuring its accessibility through Myggetal.dk.
