Professional Bio
I am a veterinarian with clinical skills and over 10 years of experience in the fields of population health, clinical epidemiology and animal welfare. I have a MSc. in Clinical Epidemiology, a MSc. in Infectious diseases and One Health, and for my PhD, worked on the Epidemiology of FMD in Uganda, focused on developing and field testing targeted disease surveillance and control interventions informed by data mining. During my career, I have been involved in numerous projects including clinical research, applied public health, evidence synthesis, and policy-oriented risk assessments with an emphasis in improving clinical outcomes, livestock and wildlife health, zoonotic diseases and one health. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher in Veterinary Epidemiology at the Roslin Institute working on Avian Influenza in wild birds in Scotland and on understanding the contributors to abortions in dairy cattle and calf mortality in Kenya.
