Professional Bio
Marit Biesheuvel graduated on her master’s degree in Animal Sciences at Wageningen University, the Netherlands, in 2018. She specialized in Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiology and Animal Breeding and Genetics. After, Marit worked as a veterinary epidemiologist for Royal GD (GD Animal Health Services) for 2.5 years. In 2020, she started her PhD at the University of Calgary in Canada. Her research focuses on the infection dynamics of Mycoplasma bovis infections in dairy herds by modelling transmission parameters, refining culture procedures, enhancing diagnostics through bioinformatics and promoting the successful implementation of control programs.
