Professional Bio
Meg Rawlins graduated as a veterinarian from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), London in 2019. She subsequently completed an MSc in One Health, jointly delivered by the RVC and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her MSc thesis focused on the financial impact of sheep and goat pox on transhumance and sedentary farmers in Nigeria and was undertaken in collaboration with The Pirbright Institute. Since completing her MSc, Meg has been working at the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), UK Government. Initially working as a veterinary inspector, she now works on control, surveillance, outbreak investigation, and research into zoonotic diseases, with a focus on Salmonella, and is a first-year resident of the European College of Veterinary Public Health. Whilst working at APHA, Meg has continued her research with The Pirbright Institute.
