Professional Bio
Dr Navneet Dhand is a veterinary epidemiologist with over two decades of experience in education, research, and epidemiology capacity development. He serves as the Director of the Asia Pacific Consortium of Veterinary Epidemiology (APCOVE) at The University of Sydney, focusing on strengthening epidemiology and One Health capacity in the Asia Pacific region. He has led several research projects for investigating the epidemiology of endemic and emerging infectious diseases and is particularly interested in Johne’s disease, bovine brucellosis and Hendra virus. His contributions to academia are evidenced by an extensive portfolio of over 200 peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, he works as a Consultant for the World Health Organization in the Health Emergency Intelligence and Surveillance Systems cluster. Recognizing his outstanding contributions, he was honoured as the Research Leader in Veterinary Medicine in the Australian Special Research Report 2020.
