Professional Bio
DVM from the Vet School at Universidad de Chile, working with surveillance of infectious diseases in the Chilean salmon industry. MSc from the University of Liverpool, working in the epidemiology of grass sickness, PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology at Universidad de Chile, working with the epidemiology of avian influenza virus and Salmonella enterica serovars within backyard production systems (BPS). Currently working on bat and animal rabies data analysis and epidemiology in Latin America, Salmonella enterica, and STEC situation at BPS from Chile and collaborating in zoonotic infectious diseases in the One Health context. Fields of work: epidemiology, statistics, infectious disease epidemiology, spatial epidemiology, and surveillance program design. Former rugby and basketball player, gamer, and father of a 9-year-old girl.
