Professional Bio
Ruwini Rupasinghe is a veterinarian and a doctoral candidate in the Graduate Group of Epidemiology at the University of California, Davis. She has an MPhil degree in genetics from the University of Peradeniya and a Master's in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis. She joined the Center for Animal Disease Modeling and Surveillance (CADMS) for her doctoral degree with a strong interest in evolutionary and spatial epidemiology in infectious diseases. Currently, she studies viral and bacterial genomes to understand the evolution and transmission mechanisms of various infectious diseases in animals. Further, she is involved in developing an epidemiological surveillance platform for antimicrobial resistance of swine bacterial pathogens.
