Stephen Catterall
Mathematical Modeller - BioSS
Professional Bio
I am a mathematical modeller based in the United Kingdom, working at Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland. Most of my work is focussed on the development and analysis of epidemiological and ecological models. I typically analyse models using simulation-based techniques. I also use Bayesian approaches to fit models to data.
I am a member of EPIC, which is the Scottish Government-funded Centre of Expertise in Animal Disease Outbreaks.
My current areas of work include modelling disease spread when the population at risk is unknown, assessing traceability in between-farm sheep movement networks, and quantifying phenotypic plasticity in tree populations.
