Professional Bio

Troy has 10 years’ experience as a veterinarian and public health professional working both clinically and as a high-level policy expert. Combined with his experience and post-graduate training in epidemiology and public health, Troy brings a uniquely broad and cross-cutting viewpoint to the issue of biosecurity risk management, disease preparedness and response, and One Health challenges. Troy’s recent achievements include the completion of Australia’s Field Epidemiology Training Program – the MAE and in 2022 gained Diplomate in Veterinary Preventive Medicine from the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. Troy is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney where he is undertaking research into predicting and preventing Japanese encephalitis using infectious disease spread modelling.
