Xin Chen Mila, a second-year PhD student at the City University of Hong Kong, has a multidisciplinary background in veterinary medicine and computer science. Her research is driven by a keen interest in how information technologies can be used to empower epidemiological studies for the prevention and control of emerging infectious and zoonotic diseases. She is also interested in improving the surveillance of antimicrobial usage. Currently, her PhD project involves the surveillance of foodborne bacterial pathogens and antimicrobial resistance usage in poultry production and distribution networks across Monsoon Asia.
