David Warton is a Professor in Statistics at UNSW Sydney. His research interests are in ecological statistics - developing new methodologies for data analysis in ecological research, and increasing awareness in ecology and related disciplines of existing methodologies. This has led to contributions to current practice in ecology in multivariate analysis, allometric line-fitting and the analysis of presence-only data. He is committed to reducing the gap between current practice and best practice in data analysis, and founded the Stats Central, the UNSW Statistical Collaboration and Consulting Unit, one of the largest academic statistical consultancies in the region.
