Professional Bio
Eleftherios Meletis (EM) has graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of University of Thessaly in 2019 (degree grade: 8.08/10) and is now a PhD candidate in Epidemiology in the Faculty of Public and one Health, School of Health Sciences, University of Thessaly, Karditsa, Greece. His research activities are development and application of Bayesian models and machine/deep learning algorithms for disease measurement, diagnostic test evaluation and early warning systems. Since 2019 EM has been a scientific core member of four (4) European projects; HOTLINE - Harmonisation Of Transmissible disease Interpretation in the EU, funded by European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), HARMONY - Novel tools for test evaluation and disease prevalence estimation and SOUND-control - Standardizing OUtput-based surveillance to control Non-regulated Diseases of cattle in the EU, both funded from COST Association and unCoVer - Unravelling Data for Rapid Evidence-Based Response to COVID-19, funded by the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme; and has more than twenty (20) scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
