Professional Bio

Veterinary doctor (2012) from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogota, Colombia). After graduation, I worked for a couple of years as an independent veterinarian in dairy herd health around Bogota City. Then, I completed my first internship in 2015 at Aurora Organic Dairy (TX, USA), where I participated in a study assessing the effects of oral calcium administration during the transition period and the effect of transrectal palpation on calf growth. Subsequently, I completed a second internship in 2016 (SA, Australia) at a robotic plus conventional pasture-based milking system. In 2019, I obtained my M.Sc. degree in Animal Sciences at Colorado State University (CO, USA), and since January 2021 I have been doing my Ph.D. in veterinary sciences (option epidemiology) at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Montreal, developing a surveillance and control program for bovine leukosis.
