I have been working as a veterinary epidemiologist in the Centre for Veterinary Epidemiology and Risk Analysis (CVERA) for the last nine years, primarily on diseases of cattle such as bovine TB and bovine viral diarrhea. Prior to that I held various posts in animal ecology at UK universities and at The British Antarctic Survey, studying a range of biota, from desert locusts to migratory birds, all of which involved a strong GIS and spatial analysis component. I have also worked in health care consultancy and for the UNHCR Iraq Operation.
