Professional Bio
Dr. Arango Sabogal is a veterinarian graduated from the Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia and holds a certificate in Animal-Human-Environment Interface and Health from the Microprogram in Veterinary Public Health and a Ph.D. in Veterinary Sciences from the Université de Montréal. He has also completed two postdoctoral fellowships, one at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Montreal, and the other at the Royal Veterinary College, United Kingdom. Dr. Arango Sabogal’s research projects are focused on 3 areas: 1) epidemiology of infectious diseases of dairy cattle, 2) evaluation of diagnostic tests and screening strategies, and 3) development and evaluation of prevention and control programs and surveillance tools. In addition to dairy production, Dr. Arango Sabogal has a strong interest in epidemiology, quantitative methods, Bayesian latent class models, and machine learning.
