Elliot Stanton
Phd Student - University of Bristol
Professional Bio
Elliot is a third year Southwest Bio DTP clinical veterinary science PhD student and a Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology - Institute of Food Science and Technology fellow with an MSci in Microbiology from the University of Glasgow and a passion for One Health research. Having completed a master’s placement at the Centre for environment, fisheries and aquaculture science which centred around establishing epidemiological cut off values for use in AMR detection in the salmonid pathogens Yersinia ruckeri and Aeromonas salmonicida, Elliot began a PhD at the University of Bristol, Bristol Veterinary School. Now a 3rd year PhD student, Elliot's research focuses on the development of methods to better understand how antimicrobial usage and resistance can be monitored on farms at a national level. Elliot is particularly interested in understanding why some farms consistently use more antibiotics than others and how we can reduce antimicrobial usage on these farms.
