Professional Bio
Currently a first-year doctoral student in animal health at the National Veterinary School of Toulouse, within the UMR Astre at Cirad, Lisa Vors holds a master's degree in Eco-Epidemiology. Her academic background has focused on studying epidemics and the emergence of human and zoonotic transmissible diseases. Her expertise extends to the fields of eco-epidemiology, ecology, and the evolution of pathogenic organisms. Throughout her studies, she has gained in-depth knowledge of eco-epidemiological events related to pathogens infecting humans, domestic animals, and wildlife. This expertise enables her to develop systems for disease prevention, surveillance, and control by integrating environmental, health, and socio-economic data specific to each intervention context.
Her current thesis aims to explore the utility of socio-environmental accounting in livestock farming from an agroecological perspective. The objective of her thesis is to assess the impacts of livestock farming on the environment by providing an evaluation framework using the CARE method (Comprehensive Accounting in Respect of Ecology). Her ambition is to offer new solutions for the livestock sector to preserve natural resources and address current social and environmental challenges. This doctoral experience represents a unique opportunity for her to deepen her skills and contribute significantly to the field of animal health, emphasizing innovative and sustainable approaches to managing livestock systems.
