Professional Bio
Peter transitioned as Professor Emeritus from the Sydney School of Veterinary Science in 2014, to manage the consultancy Production Animal Welfare & Health Services. This enabled continuation of applied projects on food security, one & eco-health & welfare of livestock, contributing >300 peer-reviewed journal & book chapter publications with >8000 citations. For decades, he conducted emergency TAD management for both NSW DPI and FAO, pursuing regional control of FMD by progressing livestock sustainability change management, contracted by international development agencies and commercial companies. Peter was awarded the 2011 Kestevan Medal (ACVSc/AVA) for contributions to international veterinary science, the Prime Ministerial Medal for national development of Cambodia in 2011 and the Presidential Medal of International Friendship from Laos in 2014.
