Professional Bio
William Lelorel Nankam Nguekap obtained his bachelor's degree in medical biology (2016) and a master's degree in medical microbiology (2019) from the Université des Montagnes (Cameroon). Driven by the desire to become a teacher-researcher, William completed an internship as a monitor of practical and supervised work (February-September 2020) and then, he held the position of Attaché Temporaire d'Enseignement et de Recherche (ATER) at the Université des Montagnes (February 2021-April 2022).
William has participated in research work in Cameroon focusing on hematological reference values in humans and antibiotic resistance on farms, hospitals and the community.
In May 2022, he began a master's degree in veterinary sciences with an epidemiology option at the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire de l'Université de Montréal under the supervision of Juan Carlos Arango Sabogal, Jean-Philippe Roy and Nathalie Bissonnette. In 2023, he did an accelerated passage for the doctorate in veterinary sciences with an epidemiology option within the same faculty and under the same supervision. He is interested in the prevalence and evaluation of screening strategies for Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) in Canadian dairy herds.
