Andrea graduated from the University of Bristol Vet School in 2000 and after sometime in practice returned to undertake a small animal medicine residency, obtaining RCVS Diploma in Feline Medicine, and ECVIM Diploma in 2005. After moving to Australia in 2011 and spending sometime in Specialist practice in Sydney, she then completed MANZCVS Memberships in Animal Welfare, and a PhD in wild horse ecology and welfare. Andrea now holds a Chancellors Research Fellowship at University of Technology Sydney and is an A/Prof in small animal medicine at the University of Sydney.
