Professional Bio
Ellen is a veterinary epidemiologist with a background in clinical practice, infectious disease epidemiology and diagnostic methods. She qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2013 and worked in veterinary practice in the UK while undertaking a part-time masters in One Health with the University of Edinburgh. In 2022 she obtained here PhD in infectious disease epidemiology at the University of Glasgow, focused on the epidemiology of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever virus in livestock and people in northern Tanzania. During the COVID-19 pandemic Ellen co-led work on serological diagnostics and epidemiology at the University of Glasgow MRC-Centre for Virus Research and continued to work on SARS-CoV-2 as a post-doc. In 2023 Ellen began work for the GBADs Liverpool team. She works on systematic approaches to data flows and model parameterisation. Ellen is also a resident of the European College of Veterinary Public Health, specialising in population medicine.
