Professional Bio
Dr Harish Tiwari is a veterinary epidemiologist at IIT Guwahati as a DBT Wellcome Trust India Alliance Intermediate Fellow and is working on ‘Implementing a comprehensive One Health Approach to eradicate dog-mediated rabies in India’. A veterinary graduate from Assam Agricultural University Dr Tiwari completed his Masters from Punjab Agricultural University and is a PhD from Murdoch University, Western Australia. His doctoral work was titled titled ‘Free-roaming dog population, community perception and control of dog-related rabies: the Indian story’.
Dr Harish is a passionate veterinary epidemiologist dedicated to evidence-based solutions to control/eradicate animal diseases. His areas of interest are dog-mediated rabies, One Health, large animals’ disease investigation, veterinary workforce capacity building, welfare, with a keen interest in production diseases. He is passionate about eliminating dog-mediated rabies from India using evidence based scientific approach.
