Dr. Rebecca Gordon is a Veterinary Medical Officer and senior staff officer for Regionalization Evaluation Services, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Regionalization Evaluation Services staff evaluates the animal health statuses of foreign regions and compartments as well as the risk of disease introduction via commodities imported into the United States. Dr. Gordon joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 2008. Her role involves utilizing import risk assessment to guide animal health policy concerning trade, address novel or emerging disease challenges, and support trade negotiations, ensuring safe trade practices. She holds a DVM from North Carolina State University and a MPH from the University of North Carolina, USA.
