Professional Bio
Graduation in Veterinary Medicine, Federal University of Paraíba, PB, in 2000; Master of Science in Experimental Epidemiology Applied to Zoonoses, University of São Paulo, SP, in 2002; and PhD in Experimental Epidemiology Applied to Zoonoses, University of São Paulo, SP, in 2006. He is a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow, level 1A, and is a Full Professor at the Academic Unit of Veterinary Medicine (UAMV) at the Center for Rural Health and Technology (CSTR) at the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG). Coordinator of the Preventive Veterinary Medicine area at UAMV/CSTR/UFCG in the period 2018/2019. Administrative Coordinator of UAMV/CSTR/UFCG from 2019 to 2023. Member of the Board of Directors of the Sociedad Iberoamericana de Epidemiología Veterinaria y Medicina Preventiva (SIEVMP). Coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Veterinary Medicine at UFCG, in the four-year period 2013-2016. He works as a consultant for several national and international journals in the areas of Animal Epidemiology and Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. He works as an ad hoc consultant at CNPq, CAPES, FAPEAM, FACEPE, ANII (Uruguay) and CSIC (Uruguay). He has experience in the area of Veterinary Medicine, with an emphasis on Preventive Veterinary Medicine, working mainly in Epidemiology and Control of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases of Animals.
